Eastern Athletic Association of the Deaf, Inc. (EAAD), embraces Universal values of self-respect, sportsmanship, and competition, which transcend all boundaries of geography, nationality, political philosophy, gender, age, race, and religion.
EAAD believes that through recreational opportunities, sports training and competition, deaf and hard of hearing people can benefit physically, mentally, socially and spiritually in an environment of equality, mutual respect and acceptance.

Mission
To provide year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of sports at the eastern states, regional, national and international level for developing and elite athletes. To assist athletes in developing physical fitness, sportsmanship and self-esteem.
Goals
To provide deaf and hard of hearing children and adults with opportunities to complete with their peers as well as the larger society of athletes worldwide. Through the United States Olympic Committee's National Governing bodies, the United States of American Deaf Sports Federation and EAAD produces competitive United States Teams at the World Games of the Deaf.
Benefits
EAAD's activities contribute to the physical, social and psychological development of the deaf and hard of hearing athletes. Through sports, self-confidence and positive self-images are developed which carry over into the classroom, home, workplace and community. Recreational pursuits provides for an enriched social environment, friendships and new activities.
The meeting/tournament sites will be places in the variable northeastern states every year. |
